The Archivist

We’re Rob and Rae Landers, a Cambridge-based Ameri-Kiwi couple with a passion for helping families and organisations preserve their personal archives. 
 

With backgrounds in project management and journalism, we bring a rare combination of structure and storytelling to our work. The Archivist is a passion project, not a full-time job, so we can be selective about our clients and really take the time to organise what you have while listening for both the personal stories and the functional need behind it.
 

The idea for The Archivist grew out of personal experience. After Rae abruptly lost her father in 2023, our family was left racing to pull together photos, documents, and memories in time for the funeral from across the globe. In the process, we uncovered yearbooks, clippings, and images that revealed a fuller picture of a life - and the family's history.

 

We decided to bring those materials into a simple digital space where family and friends could gather, share memories, and commemorate their favorite moments. A mother was able to say goodbye to her son. A uni classmate was able to share a forgotten memory. An old friend revealed an irreplaceable photograph, and most importantly, our family was able to hold a lifetime in a moment, just a little longer.
